El Segundo Salón Nacional del Cómic, la Ilustración y la Caricatura fue inaugurado con bombos y platillos en el Centro Cultural de la Biblioteca de Santiago.

Las obras de los más connotados dibujantes chilenos están en los muros de cuatro grandes salas. La exposición está dividida por edad de la audiencia y destaca una variedad de técnicas y estilos.
Los grandes maestros están exponiendo en el salón principal del centro cultural. Aquí encontramos artistas de la talla de Luis Goyenechea Zegarra (Lugoze), Luis Alberto Percáres, Juan Francisco Jara, Eduardo De la Barra, Santiago Peñailillo, Víctor Arriagada Ríos (Vicar), Hernán Vidal (Hervi), Lincoln Fuentes, Themo Lobos, Jimmy Scott, Jorge Carvallo (Jorcar) y el fallecido Oscar Vega.
También hay un espacio para los talentos jóvenes. Por ejemplo, Rafael Nangarí Bade y el dúo femenino Acuarela destacan por el colorido de su arte digital, una de las características de las nuevas generaciones de artistas.
Los más pequeños pueden disfrutar de obras cargadas de ilusiones y fantasías. Artistas como Miguel Ortiz y Carlos González están presentando obras inspiradas en la inocencia de la infancia.
Y para los adultos más osados está la Sala +18. Ellos pueden deleitarse con ilustraciones e historietas con un notable acento sensual y humor erótico. Los dibujantes Félix Vega, Fred Harrison (Ferocius), Percy Eaglehurst y Juan de Dios Sánchez (Judisan) brindan esta picardía a la muestra.
Sin duda, la exposición reúne a los mejores dibujantes de lás últimas siete décadas y, lo más importante, que han triunfado tanto en Chile como el extranjero. Es por eso que la Universidad Los Leones y la Biblioteca de Santiago les reconoció por su destacada trayectoria en el arte.
El Segundo Salón Nacional del Cómic, la Ilustración y la Caricatura estará abierto hasta el 1 de julio. También hay talleres y grupos de discusión para aquellos que deseen aprender más sobre la tinta china. La entrada es gratuita, así que no existe ninguna excusa para no asistir y no apoyar al Noveno Arte.

Artworks from the most prominent Chilean cartoonists hang on the walls of four large rooms. The exhibit is segmented by age and highlights a variety of techniques and styles.
The great masters are exhibiting in the cultural centre’s main room. Here we find artists like Luis Goyenechea (Lugoze), Luis Alberto Percáres, Juan Francisco Jara, Eduardo De la Barra, Santiago Peñailillo, Víctor Arriagada (Vicar), Hernán Vidal (Hervi), Lincoln Fuentes, Themo Lobos, Jimmy Scott, Jorge Carvallo (Jorcar), and the late Oscar Vega.
There is also space to young talents. For example, Rafael Nangarí Bade and the female due ‘Acuarela’ stand out for their colourful digital art –a characteristic of the new generations of cartoonists.
The little ones can learn from works full of dreams and fantasies. Artists like Miguel Ortiz Sandoval and Carlos González are presenting works inspired by the innocence of childhood.
Finally, the +18 Room is for the most daring adults. They can enjoy illustrations and comics with a noticeable sensual accent and erotic humour. The cartoonists Felix Vega, Fred Harrison (Ferocious), Percy Eaglehurst and Juan de Dios Sánchez (Judisan) are adding this playfulness to the exhibit.
Undoubtedly, the exhibition brings together the best cartoonists of the past seven decades and, most importantly, who have succeeded both in Chile and abroad. That's why they have been recognized by Los Leones University and the Santiago Public Library for their outstanding careers in the arts.
The Second International Salon of Comic, Caricature and Illustration runs until 1st July. There are also workshops and discussions groups for those who want to learn more about drawing. Admission is free, so there is no excuse for not attending and not supporting the Ninth Art.
