Luis Percáres es dibujante, ilustrador, publicista, pintor y poeta. Tiene una trayectoria consolidada nacional e internacionalmente en las áreas de la publicidad, el marketing, las comunicaciones, el arte y la cultura.
El artista nació en Valdivia, Chile. Descubrió su pasión por el arte después de leer historietas y admirar las ilustraciones de enciclopedias cuando era niño. Así comenzó a dibujar y a pintar usando acuarela, tinta y óleo, entre otras técnicas.
En la Universidad de Buenos Aires obtuvo su primera licenciatura en publicidad, dibujo e ilustración. Después de algunos años en Argentina, regresó a su país y estudió historia del arte y pintura en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Chile.
También ha sido director de arte, jefe de producción, creativo y diseñador gráfico. Sus trabajos han sido publicados en medios digitales y escritos, como también en libros y avisos publicitarios. Diarios chilenos como El Mercurio, La Tercera, La Cuarta y La Nación han reproducido sus ilustraciones y caricaturas.
Paralelamente, Luis Percáres ha tenido una carrera como pintor realista. Sus retratos, marinas y paisajes han tenido buena recepción por los críticos y la audiencia en las diferentes muestras en las que ha participado.
El artista también ha recibido significantes galardones, tales como el Premio a la Trayectoria Creativaotorgado por el Salón de la Historieta y la Caricatura de Chile y el reconocimiento del Festival de la Ilustración 'Anime Colorate' en Italia.
Actualmente, Luis Percáres sigue creando, dibujando y pintando. Las situaciones cotidianas las convierte en historias visuales, así sus obras transmiten y ensimisman con la misma magia que hace 50 años.

Luis Percáres is a cartoonist, illustrator, advertising professional, painter and poet. He has a consolidated career both national and internationally in advertising, marketing, communications, arts, and culture.
The artist was born in Valdivia, Chile. He discovered his passion for art after reading comic books and admiring illustrations from encyclopedias when he was a child. Since then, he began drawing and painting using watercolour, ink and oil among other art techniques.
He earned a degree in advertising, drawing and illustration from the University of Buenos Aires. After a few years in Argentina, he returned home and studied a degree in art history and painting at the University of Chile's Faculty of Fine Arts.
He has also been a creative and art director, advertising production manager and graphic designer. His artwork has been published in digital and print media as well as in books and advertisements. Chilean newspapers such as El Mercurio, La Tercera, La Cuarta and La Nación have featured his illustrations and caricatures.

In addition, Luis Percáres has developed a career as a realistic painter. His portraits, seascapes and landscapes have been well received by critics and the audience in several exhibits where he has participated.
The artist has also won significant awards including the Creative Lifetime Achievement Prize from the Salon of Comic, Caricature and Cartoon in Chile, and a recognition from the Festival of Illustration 'Anime Colorate'in Italy.
